The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is suspending head office operations at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay City from June 26 to 30 to pave the way for disinfection of the premises after four workers tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
Two employees and two outsourced personnel at the SEC head office tested positive in rapid antibody tests for COVID-19.
The employees and outsourced personnel are currently under strict home quarantine and being monitored by the SEC’s medical staff, the SEC said in an advisory on Thursday. These people will undergo confirmatory tests for COVID-19.
“The employees and outsourced personnel have no history of travel abroad, no known exposure to confirmed positive COVID-19 cases and no symptoms,” the SEC said.
The two employees have been working from home since March 13 and reported at the SEC Main Office for rapid antibody testing on June 24 and 25.
“The Commission is implementing all necessary health protocols, pursuant to and consistent with the directives and guidelines of the Department of Health,” the SEC said.
“The SEC will continue adopting alternative work arrangements, in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Civil Service Commission, to minimize disruption in the delivery of services to the public.”
